The Adidas World of Sports in Herzogenaurach, Germany stands out with its new building. Acting as a reception and office, the Arena is a 52,000 m2 functional area where the brand’s visual identity prevails. Behnisch Architekten experts have put architectural sculpture at the service of modern ergonomics.
A crystal clear body of water and a manicured lawn to the nearest millimeter. This is the pedestal above which the impressive studded quadrilateral floats. Its facade is fitted with a personalized shading system. Its structure, made of steel and concrete thanks to the installation of inclined supports, earned it the Engineering Award from the association of the German steel construction industry. In short? Efficiency and sports technique modeled in an architectural work concealing its interior, connected by an atrium that submerges natural light, at three communicating work levels. The landscape, the transparency and the foundations of modern work thus form the principles of this building designed by Behnisch Architekten, in Herzogenaurach, Germany. The space revolves around a floating staircase with dramatized looks. From here, you can see the foyer, the campus and all the floors. A central street connects them, creating an atmosphere of a suspended market, where all meetings are conducive. On each platform, this central artery spreads in six cities with different materials, colors and furnishings. Here and there, meeting areas and recreation areas unite the whole. For the 2,000 employees, this is a concept that encourages the formation of separate but connected local professional identities for maximum innovation.
