Located in a classic industrial building in Mile-End, Montreal, the new premises of the audiovisual production company Attraction is designed to bring together some 300 employees in one place and offer them an optimized quality of work. Bypassing constraints, especially a very tight schedule, the designers of the Imperatori Design agency have, in an eco-responsible spirit, taken up the challenge with flying colors, creating an original and innovative space. Reflecting a friendly and warm atmosphere, the contemporary U-shaped places benefit from natural and indirect light. The large traffic areas reinforce the fluidity of exchanges between the different departments. The space dedicated to the well-being of users occupies a special place, under the windows facing east. Several cubes and small alcoves with various configurations allow employees to escape the ambient hubbub, when the task requires calm. However, the bond with the community is never interrupted, since closed workspaces include transparent or even open partitions made of polycarbonate or glass. In addition to sculpting an architectural volume and giving the immensity of the loft a more human dimension, these strategic shelters meet the company’s requirements, namely to optimize freedom of movement while providing visual dynamics.
