An airy and friendly house in Greece

This house in Messinia, Greece, is designed by MGXM Architects, a firm founded in 2007 by two alumni of the Aristotle University School of Architecture, in Thessaloniki, by the Aegean Sea. The villa is designed in a resolutely contemporary style.

Located on a hill in Messinia, Greece, it is a spectacular view of the Aegean Sea and its Peloponnese mountains that offers this villa designed by the MGXM Architects office. On 330 m2, two structures come together thanks to an interior courtyard, over which extends an infinity pool plunging into the endless landscape. This modern-day architecture is there like a link between man and nature, with its geometric construction and the curves of the hills. All the lines are extremely clear and highlighted by a relaxing symmetry. The two blocks are sparkling white like the ancient villages clinging to the cliffs, accompanied by a stone portico that anchors the house in a rocky base in the image of the land. The layout of the rooms is very rational, fluid, fresh and comfortable. The decoration confirms the commitment to balance and synchronize, by adding notes of color that are welcome in this blue and white universe, such as the living room in a dynamic anise green or the alignment of paintings adorning the walls of the dining room. The patio is no exception to the linear rule with the projected shadow of the wooden slats and the infinity pool leads the eye straight to the sea.
