The approach of Studio Klass, of the Italian designer duo Maturo and Roscini, consists in analyzing the specific needs of individuals in their daily life and producing unusual solutions. Challenging the archetypal concept of the object, their works invite one to assess reality from a new point of view.

After obtaining their diplomas from the European School of Design IED, in Milan, Marco Maturo and Alessio Roscini founded, in 2009, Studio Klass, an industrial design agency based in Milan and working in various fields, ranging from furniture to lighting and designer products. Over the years, the two partners collaborate with many renowned Italian and international companies, such as Azzura Ceramica, cc-tapis, Ichendorf, Cantarutti, Fiam Italia, FontanaArte, Ligne Roset, Lavazza, Living Divani, Normann Copenhagen and UniFor. Their creations are presented at events and fairs in Milan as well as in Paris or New York. As a result of their work, they obtain wide recognition in the world and are awarded with prestigious prizes, such as the German Design Award in 2018, the Red Dot Award and the Adi Design Index in 2015 and the IF Design Award in 2014.

The way of proceeding of Studio Klass aims to seek innovation in function and in the way of using objects. Particular attention is paid to the combination of colors, shapes and materials. Thus, the collaboration between Fiam Italia and the studio resulted in the creation of several glass furnishings, such as the Magic Totem sideboard, the Foulard shelf, the Plié collection and the Lakes coffee tables. Glass melted at high temperature is the main protagonist of this series of corner tables and pedestal tables, where the material is treated as if it were liquid, in an alternation of reflections and transparencies highlighted by the thickness of the glass and rounded edges. The minimal metal structure brings a natural elegance, designed to remain at the service of glass leaving it as the main interpreter of the collection.

For CC-tapis, the Cinquecento collection celebrates the use of perspective during the Italian Renaissance period. In these rugs, geometric and colored areas are selected and developed like a work of art made of lines and shapes, inspired by the reference masterpieces of this period, like those of Bellini and Botticelli. For the Ichendorf brand, the firm imagines GAP, a series of bubble glasses whose thickness varies slightly, giving the illusion of two concentric volumes created by stacking several glasses on top of each other. It is these kinds of technical details that become graphic and iconic, thus making all the strength of this talented and inspired duo.
