Proposte 2026: Quality, relationships and international vision at the heart of the exhibition

The 33rd edition of Proposte, the leading international exhibition dedicated to furnishing textiles, curtains, trimmings and wall coverings, successfully concluded its three-day run at Villa Erba in Cernobbio, Italy, from May 5 to 7, 2026. For three days, Villa Erba welcomed the key players of a supply chain that continues to stand out internationally for its creativity, craftsmanship and capacity for innovation, reaffirming Proposte as a privileged meeting place for manufacturing excellence, research and design culture.

The 2026 edition placed the value of relationships at its core: a fundamental element for a sector that preserves important manufacturing traditions while simultaneously embracing the evolution of contemporary design and its applications. Embodying this vision were the 87 exhibiting companies from 14 countries, selected for the outstanding quality of their collections and their ability to interpret the new demands of the international market. This year’s theme, Heritage Forward, expresses a shared vision: to enhance the sector’s manufacturing heritage while projecting it towards future challenges, including technological innovation, sustainability and international market expansion. This approach is also reflected in an increasingly contemporary and engaging exhibition format.

Visitors also confirmed the exhibition’s distinctive positioning. Over the course of the three-day event, more than 2,500 buyers attended Proposte, marking a 5% increase compared to the previous edition. The top five countries by visitor origin were Italy, the UK, the United States, Germany and France, reaffirming the high-level professional and international profile that has always characterised the fair. This achievement was also made possible thanks to the collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ICE – Italian Trade Agency, which supported Proposte through the organisation of a delegation of 51 buyers and 16 members of the international press from 23 countries.

Among the key themes of the 2026 edition was also the increasingly close dialogue between textiles, furnishings and spatial design. This vision was reflected in the collaboration with Cristina Celestino Studio for the design of the common areas, beginning with the Ala Regina, and in the contribution of leading partners including Contardi Lighting, Crema Outdoor, Meridiani, Roda and Saba. The inaugural edition of INTERNI.Proposte Award 2026 was launched in collaboration with INTERNI Magazine to recognize the most innovative applications of fabrics and the best synergies between textile manufacturers and furniture designers. Winners included Roda+Jacqart (Fine Outdoor), De Padova+Torri Lana (Inspired by Nature), and Flexform+Rossini della Quercia (Precious Touch).

The 33rd edition of Proposte 2026 therefore leaves a clear vision for the future of the exhibition: an ecosystem in which textiles, design, research and hospitality engage in an increasingly close dialogue, while continuing to place quality and manufacturing culture at the centre.

The next edition of Proposte 2027 will take place from 4 to 6 May 2027.
