A dream home with a view of the Atlantic

In Miami, facing the ocean, a contemporary villa unfolds its charm under the tropical sun of South Florida. Designed by the South African firm SAOTA, the sumptuous residence, intrinsically linked to its location, combines art, breathtaking scenery and a vacation spirit.

Miami is all about sun, warm weather and relaxation. Located in the exclusive Golden Beach neighborhood, on a narrow strip of dead-end land between the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the wide expanse of the Intracoastal Waterway to the northwest, this family home has everything the “Magic City” has to offer. Designed by South African architects SAOTA and set at the back of the pie-shaped plot, the home is oriented towards the sea with the sole imperative of maximizing the spectacular water views and opening up to nature to the point of blurring the boundary between inside and outside. Opting for a layered approach, the designers sought to create a balance of contrasts during the construction. As a result, the structure is a progressive experience, manifesting itself between a sturdy monolithic protective screen of concrete panels facing the street and a light, transparent treatment on the façade overlooking the waterway. Carefully articulated, the waterfront façade allows a series of rooms to be generated outside so that the owners can make the most of the invigorating setting. The interior spaces advance by degrees towards the exterior, becoming lighter as the architecture opens up to the view. Remarkably, the unparalleled experience extends to a cantilevered deck for easy boat access.
